Young Actors Wanted for upcoming ITV Production of Peter Pan

ACT 2 CAM is casting young actors for the upcoming ITV Production of Peter Pan

COMPANY: Headline Pictures                 PRODUCER: Christian Baute

DIRECTOR: Diarmuid Lawrence            LOCATION: London & an abroad location TBC

SHOOTING: 20th April - end of June 2015

Lucy/Wendy (Female, 11 - 13)
Metropolitan Middle class, Neutral accent
Age 11-13 (will consider older girls if they genuinely have a younger playing age) A pretty young girl on the brink of her teenage years, sophisticated but still young enough to be cuddled when she’s in a good mood. She has grown up in hospitals and with that has a wiseness that is beyond her years. She is witty, feisty and sarcastic and like any other young girl on the brink of becoming a teenager. We need an exceptional young actress for this lead role.

MUST BE A REASONABLE SWIMMER.
Height: Any                          Appearance: White

Peter Pan (Male, 11 - 13)
Any accent
A boy on the cusp of an adulthood he refuses to enter. Charming, charismatic, eager & enthusiastic, with bundles of energy. Beneath the bravado, there is an innocence; he is just another lost boy who longs for a mother. We need an exceptional young actor for this lead role. He must be able to move us emotionally as well as engage and entertain.
MUST BE A REASONABLE SWIMMER. Voice should not have broken.
Height: Any
Appearance: White

John Darling (Male, 9 - 11)
Middle class, Neutral accent
A mature child in comparison to the Lost Boys. He is in awe of Peter’s courage and sense of adventure. Initially excited by the idea of pirates though the reality of them is actually quite scary. He is quite bookish and imagines that he will be an accountant when he grows up, however it doesn’t take long for him to settle into life in Neverland and like all the other lost boys he starts to forget about his parents. Supporting role – featured throughout
Height: Any    Appearance: White

Michael Darling (Male, 6 - 9)
Middle class, Neutral accent
Michael is a child in Great Ormond Street Hospital and also the character of Michael in “Peter Pan”. Like his big brother John, he is in awe of Peter’s courage and sense of adventure. He too is Initially excited by the idea of pirates though the reality of them is actually quite scary. It doesn’t take long for him to settle into life in Neverland and like all the other lost boys he starts to forget about his parents. Supporting role – featured throughout
Height: Any     Appearance: White

Jaya/Tiger Lily (Female, 11 - 14)
Working class. London accent or other regional accent
She is a little older than the other children with bags of attitude. In the story of “Peter Pan” Jaya is also Tiger Lily. Tiger Lily is equally as confident as Jaya and very brave as she stands up to Hook to protect both her brother and Peter (who she holds somewhat of a candle for)
In her incarnation as Tiger Lily, Jaya is dressed as she imagines an Indian Princess would dress (think Princess Jasmine with bare midriff and perhaps shoulders on view).
MUST BE A REASONABLE SWIMMER.    Supporting lead role.
Height: Any   Appearance: Asian, Indian, Pakistani

Hanif (Male, 7 - 10)
Any accent
Very poorly and frail. In a wheelchair when we encounter him in Great Ormond Street Hospital. We need a child who is self contained, quiet and still. However in Neverland he is a healthy child who can swim. Featured throughout although hardly has any dialogue.
MUST BE A REASONABLE SWIMMER.
Height: Any    Appearance: Asian, Indian, Pakistani

Lost Boys (Male, 5 - 11)
For the lost boys we need little boys with bundles of character. Be it that they have the face of an angel beneath a layer of dirt and grime or they disguise their gentle soul with the most martial outlook. They might be boisterous, cheeky, smiley, silly, playful. They should have a real sense of adventure but deep down we should still see that all these boys really crave is the love and affection of a mother.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A RANGE OF ETHNICITIES AND ACCENTS FOR THESE ROLES.
In particular for the role of lost boy Curly who is the youngest of all the lost boys (about age 5/6) we are looking for a boy with curly hair & for the role of Tootles (the leader of the lost boys) we will be looking at the older end, around age 10/11. He needs a real sense of adventure, strong leadership qualities & a fascination with blood and gore.
Height: Any     Appearance: Any
