........Welcome back and welcome to our new starters................

Today's creative activities are all linked to Chinese Food.

Depending on what you have to hand in your home you may need to make a few adjustments to the activity.

We would much rather you adapt an activity than make additional journeys outside your home.

You may want to have a go at all, or some of these activities or you may have some good ideas of your own.

Do you have any chopsticks?

If not don't worry... you can use 2 pencils

Can you use your chopsticks to pick up cotton wool balls? Can you pick up anything else with them?

I've added a picture to show you how to use chopsticks properly,

but you can just hold them like the other picture I've included with one in each hand.

Have some fun!

How about using your chopsticks to make a picture, instead of using a brush.

You could drag and scratch the paint, or use the end to print with.

Can you drag different colours of paint together and swirl them around

and see what happens when the colours mix together?

Why not pretend to be a chef working in a Chinese restaurant.

Think about the food that we looked at in Literacy

and make some using playdough...

noodles would be great to roll out with your hands

- I wonder how thin you could make your playdough noodles?

Make a collage Chinese meal like this one - wool or string noodles would look great...

Play with some dry rice, pouring it into different containers

- maybe recap full, empty, nearly full and nearly empty!

Cook some rice and play with that!!!

- How is it different from the dry rice - can you squash, squeeze, mould it?
