Welcome to Foundation Stage; the team is made up of
Miss Brunt, Mrs Clements, Mrs Bee, Mrs Roys, Mrs Foy, Miss Green, Miss Gill and Miss Yapp.
In FS2 we have 60 children split into two classes for carpet sessions and PE. For the rest of the time we mix together in our large classroom space.
In FS1 we have a large classroom space to explore.
Both groups have time to access our wonderful outdoor space.
Which we are hoping will be further developed over the summer.
The children learn through a ‘free flow’, play based curriculum with a range of child initiated and adult-led activities taking place both inside and out.
Please find below information regarding the two apps we regularly use in FS to communicate and share our learning experiences with parents!
The children have an on-line Tapestry Learning Journal which is used to record photos, observations and comments in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, to build up a record of your child’s experiences during their time with us. It is a wonderful way for parents to keep informed about their child’s learning instantly through email notifications.
Parents can add their own observations so we can gain an insight into their child’s interests and achievements outside of school, which can provoke some lovely discussions - if you require a form please ask a member of staff.
Currently we use MarvellousMe as described below however from September we will be using Class Dojo, details will be shared nearer the time.
MarvellousMe is a quick and fun way for teachers to keep you regularly informed about the wonderful things that your child is learning at school, and how well they are developing good behaviours and character skills.
The snippets of information that MarvellousMe gives you (and to any other of your family members or carers who join up) makes it easy for you to:
If you require a form please ask a member of staff.
FS2 school reading books will be changed Monday and Friday. Children will be given a school reading book and a 'bedtime' story book.
In FS2 we use word wheels to support children's learning of key vocabulary, we check them weekly and hope that parents take the time to practise regularly.
