Gardening Project

Miss Brunt and her family had the opportunity to visit the school at Easter and meet the staff and get a good tour. On this occasion the school were happy to report that not only were they incredibly grateful for the uniform but also for the electricity supply that had been paid for by Mr Jammeh ( one of our amazing parents at St John's). Previously they were relying on a local shop keeper to provide power to fill their water tanks (at a cost much higher than the cost of electricity). Mr Jammeh paid for them to get their very own electricity supply which is now saving them lots of money and allowing better access to water.

As a result the staff were beginning to start a little school garden to enable them to feed some of the children, as many children come to school hungry.

However ...

They had very limited gardening tools.

So St John's decided to ask our wonderfully school community if they could help!

Of course our wonderful school community did not let us down and so recently a good selection of tools started it's journey to The Gambia. It takes a while to get there we will let you know when it does!
