What do you have to be thankful for? I know the world might seem gloomy right now but there is always something to be grateful for. It could be the sun shining down. Or rain to keep our green spaces healthy. You could be thankful for your home and the people who love you. Are you thankful for your toys and games? The internet!
Clever scientists say that the more you look for things to be grateful and happy about, the more you will find. It’s a bit like training yourself to sniff out the happiness.
A nice idea is to create a gratitude jar. You can use any empty box, jar or basket. Check with a grown up that it is ok for you to use it. You might like to decorate it. Try to think of at least one thing every day that you can give thanks for. Write it on a piece of paper and pop it in your jar.
Watch as your jar gets full of thanks. If you feel down or sad, open your jar and read all the wonderful things you are thankful for. You could share them with your family and help them to feel happy too.
