Literacy

Today we are going to think about being

doctors and nurses and paramedics...

Do you think that these people are superheroes?

What do they do that makes them so amazing?

I have got 3 videos today about the 3 different jobs.

You can choose which one you want to watch, or watch all of them.

You might want to watch one now and the others later.

They are all great.

I Want To Be A Doctor - Kids Dream Jobs - Can You Imagine That?

Annika imagines what it would be like to be a doctor.

I want to be a Nurse - Kid's Dream Job - Can You Imagine That?

Aimee imagines what it would be like to be a nurse.

I Want To Be A Paramedic - Kids Dream Jobs - Can You Imagine That?

This is Daniel and he wants to be a paramedic, Can You Imagine That? In America they call 911 - what would we call?

Wow... Doctors, nurses and paramedics really are superheroes aren't they, especially at the moment.

Talk with your grown-up about what they do that makes them superheroes.

Have you ever been to the doctors or even to the hospital?

Have you ever had to travel in an ambulance?

Today I would like you to think of a time when you were poorly and

a doctor or nurse or paramedic helped you.

Draw/ paint/ collage a picture of them looking after you.

Did they use any special superhero accessories like a thermometer or a stethoscope?

Did they use any superhero powers like making you laugh or smile?

Label your picture and write a sentence to tell me about it.

e.g. The doctor took my temperature. The doctor gave me some medicine.

The nurse made me smile when I hurt my arm.

Remember to carefully plan your ideas and think about the sounds that you can hear and write those down. Your grown-up can write next to your writing what you wanted to say when you have finished.

(we don't expect it to be perfect. You're only 4 and 5 and you're all learning how to write at your own pace. Just give it your best try laugh)

I can't wait to see your work...
