Today we're going to think about the kind of food that people in China might eat.
I have found some photographs of my families favourite food when we order food from the Chinese Takeaway.
Have a look at the photographs and think of words that might describe the different foods.
Try to think of really good words to describe what it looks like and what you think it might smell like and taste like.
Grown-ups, try to introduce the children to new words that they might never have heard or used before...
yummy, delicious, scrumptious, tasty
sloppy, sticky, crunchy, fluffy
I'm sure you'll come up with much better words than me!
Below I've put some pictures that we use in school to remind the children what we want them to think about.
We call them 'lenses' and the children should remember seeing them in our classroom.
Write a sentence to describe your favourite Chinese food.
Use the word 'and' so that you can use 2 of your describing words
e.g. The rice looks fluffy and delicious.
Remember what we say every day about the children's writing. We don't expect them to be able to hear all the sounds, or even know how to write some of the sounds that they can hear. Encourage them to hear and record what they can, encouraging them to have a go by themselves and ensuring them that their best is good enough.
