Today's challenge - Practise counting in 1's as far as you can go...

 

whenever possible, find opportunities to count - when you're climbing the stairs, count how many teddies/ cars/ pencil crayons/ blocks they have when playing...

This is the suggested activity to match Session 2 – Making Pairs – make sure you follow the link above and watch the lesson before you do the activity

You don't need to go outside to do this job...

 

You could have a collection of items (that you know there is another of around the house) and challenge your child to find the other to make the pair.

 

If you're anything like me you'll have a basket of socks that need pairing... it can be your child's job today - Mrs Clements says it's your maths job for today wink

 

Count how many pairs they have.

 

You could extend their thinking by counting how many items there are altogether by counting the pairs 'in 2s'...

By the end of FS they should be able to count in 2s so we will be practising this more and more...
