Welcome to our new starter Foundation 2 page, here we aim to give useful information about starting school in one of our reception/foundation stage 2 classes.
Many thanks to everyone who took the time to come visit us on the transition days, we really do value spending the time getting to know you and your children.
We are aware that we gave you a lot of information during the parent meetings, hopefully the handouts will help you recall some of what we said. Key points are listed below.
The staff team in Foundation Stage 2 (lions and tigers) will be Miss Brunt, Miss Gill, Miss Lucas and Miss Yapp.
We looked at uniform, the link to order it is here. (school password JOH405) Please remember ordering to school is free delivery and we ask that you hold off getting PE kit and bag until you know your child's team colour (early September)
Classroom doors open 8.40am, if you need childcare prior to this please book wraparound care (see own info page) lunch is 12 to 1pm. The school day finishes at 3pm, childcare is available through wraparound.
During the school day children will have carpet sessions as well as learning through play based activities where staff move children forward in their learning though an awareness of their next steps to progress.
Lunch times - children have the choice of 2 hot meals (one is always vegetarian) and a range of puddings. You may also order a sandwich, if your child is unlikely to want to eat one of the options, we need the order a week in advance (this can be a text to the office) Here is the current school dinner menu.
Reverend Lima invited all new children and their families to Christchurch for a welcome service on Sunday 16th September at 11am. The service is followed by hot dogs and a bouncy castle. Please let staff know if you will be attending by Thursday 13th September.
We had a talk from the PTFA and the school Governors.
We talked about phoneme books, reading records, word wheels, phonics, reading books, reading rewards and spelling books. We will always encourage you to come and talk to us about anything.
Remember every child develops at their own pace.
