Reading ideas

Don't forget to do regular reading together.

School books are important but don't underestimate the power of reading to your child.

Share a book every day.

As a parent you can sign up free to the Oxford Owl website, here there are a wide range of books, grouped by age/ability that you can encourage your child to read to you.

We have some of these books in school so they can serve to take the place of school reading books.

Active learn is a website that the school subscribes to, you will find the log in information in your child's reading record. It is called Bug Club Active learn log in. Here is the link to the website.
Phonics play has a comics section, which you can access here.

However reading books together, so any you have at home or find online, is wonderful.

Here are some more stories linked to our topics.

Here is a list to some classic Reception favourites. How many have you read?

Follow this link to CBeebies bedtime stories where you might just find a new book to experience together.
