Self-esteem, what does it mean?
When we talk about self-esteem we are talking about how you feel about yourself. It is a sense of self-worth and value or how much you like and appreciate yourself. If you had to describe yourself what would you say? It can feel uncomfortable to say nice things about yourself, you might feel like you are showing off, but it is important to have good self-esteem and feel good about yourself. When you feel good about who you are you look after yourself and have more confidence to reach for your dreams. Everyone has days when they don't feel as confident or as strong. On those days, and on better days, there are things you can do to remind yourself of all the good qualities you have.
You could have a positive affirmation that you repeat to yourself when you need a boost. This is a little saying or a few words that will remind you of your good qualities and encourage you to keep going. You will find some examples below and there are more in the positive thinking area as well. Think about what you're strengths are, what you like about yourself and what you're proud of.
