If the numerator (top number) is 1, to a fraction of an amount, divide by the denominator.
For example, 1/4 of 20. 20 ÷ 4 = 5
If the numerator is bigger than 1, divide by the denominator and then multiply the answer by the numerator.
Remember - divide by the bottom, times by the top.
For example, 3/4 of 20. 20 ÷ 4 = 5.
5 x 3 = 15
