Tuesday

Tuesday 28th April 2020

For today's English activity, choose one of the three writing activities to complete about the wolf picture below.

Story

Write a story about the setting and the characters in the picture. You could write your own fairytale. Perhaps the wolf is hiding from the boy, who is in the tree, waiting to creep up on him.  You could also write an adventure or mystery story about the wolf and the child.

Use lots of adjectives and adverbs to add description.

Write a diary of the wolf's day or a newspaper article

Write a diary entry for the wolf's day or a newspaper article explaining what the wolf has done. Remember what the wolf did in the story of the Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood. Has he done anything else? You can make up the events that happened in your newspaper article or diary.

Diary entries are written in first person - You pretend you are the wolf using 'I'.

Newspaper articles are written in third person - You are reporting what has happened. Use words and names like: he, his, the wolf, the boy, Alex.

Both are written in the past tense.

If you chose to write a newspaper article, you can use the template.

Description of the wolf or child

Write a description of the wolf or the child (who is in the tree).

Use lots of adjectives and expanded noun phrases to add description.

Use these questions to help you:

  • What do they look like?
  • What are they wearing?
  • What has happened to them?
  • Why are they there?
  • Are they hiding?
  • Where are they?
  • What time of day is it?
  • What will they do next?
