Today you have discovered a secret door. What is behind the door? Is there a secret world, a person, a mythical creature, treasure or something else? Use your imagination and be creative.

Choose one of the English activities to complete about the secret door.

Story

Write a story about discovering the door and what lies beyond the door. Use your imagination for what is behind the door. Behind the door could be a hidden chocolate world, an underwater adventure, a time travelling machine or anything else you can imagine! Be creative!

It can be written in the first or third person.

Use lots of description to add detail to your story.

Description of what is behind the door

Write a description about what you discover behind the door.

Use lots of adjectives and expanded noun phrases to add description.

Use these questions to help you:

  • What is behind the door? or Who is behind the door?
  • What does it look like?
  • How do you feel about your discovery? Do you like it? Are you excited? Are you nervous?
  • What did you do once you got through the door?
  • What can you hear? What can you smell? Can you taste anything?
