Tiny Tots Allotment

On Tuesday 17th May 2022 we officially thanked the amazing Gardening Grandparents and opened the Early Years Adventure Area and Tiny Tots Allotment.

We have been blessed with a beautiful outdoor classroom, with a sky for a ceiling, the earth for a floor and endless transparent open windows.

Our Grandparents have furnished it with love and dedication, helping to provide quality Outdoor Learning opportunities for our children, enabling them to explore the world around them, connect with nature and engage their inquisitive little minds.

They generously gave up their time in all weathers, donated plants, recycled posts into pencils, planks into signs, painted the Penny Farthing, made stepping stones, built a mud kitchen, Bugingham Palace...the list is endless!

Their patience with the children is magical, sharing knowledge and honesty, especially answering questions.

"What is the purpose of an ant?" is one that springs to mind.

Our Sewing Granny, despite having a broken shoulder has spent time making a fantastic Jubilee Garden Guard and also kindly donated a new spade.

To mark this special  occasion, as part of the Queens Platinum Jubilee celebrations and contribution towards the Queens Green Canopy, children from our unit planted fruit trees with their Grandparents.

Always remember that when you belong to a wonderful family, you believe in yourself and each other, you can achieve anything!

FS1 Children have quality gardening sessions with Mrs Foy, every day, if they would like to. They are free to choose to take part and we have seen some amazing learning and progression taking place on our allotment.
