FIFA FOOTBALL WORLD CUP 2014
Welcome back to school for our Summer Term! This term we are going to be learning all about Brilliant Brazil and the FIFA Football World Cup 2014. We will be learning lots about the history of football and the tournament itself. We will also look at the host country Brazil in great detail! Starting with its environment, we will learn about the people of Brazil as well as some of its most famous sights and features including the Amazon Rainforst, Amazon River and Christ the Reedemer.
On week 4 of the Summer Term however, we have our SAT tests to conquer. SATs week will begin on the week commencing the 12th May! This is the following timetable for the week:
Monday 12th May - Reading Test
Tuesday 13th May - SPAG Test
Wednesday 14th May - Mental Maths and Paper A
Thursday 15th May - Maths Paper B and Level 6 Maths
If you have any questions regarding SATS week then please do not hesitate to speak to me any day before or after school. We will also be offering every year 6 child a free breakfast during SAT week, more information will be provided nearer the time!
Throughout the rest of this action packed term, we will also be completing our 10 week DARE course which starts on the first week back! Each class will have an hour session with PC Hand on a Thursday afternoon to learn all about drug awareness and resistance education! This will lead nicely onto out graduation and year 6 leavers party at the end of the Term as you all prepare yourself to leave St John's and continue your journey into Secondary School. All dates are TBC and we will let you know as soon as possible.
If you have any questions regarding anything in year 6 or the transition to year 7 then please do not hesitate to ask. We are more than happy to help!
I am thoroughly looking forward to a hard working but equally enjoyable and entertaining term! Thank you for your continued support,
Mr Challinor
