Roald Dahl Day
Thursday 13th September was Roald Dahl Day officially but as year 5 and 6 were so busy on Thursday we decided to celebrate it on Wednesday afternoon.
Thoughout the afternoon all four year 5 and 6 classes concentrated on a different book and had a different 30 minute activity. We all had 30 minuites within each class and rotated around all four classrooms. We had the option of bringing in our favourite Roald Dahl book and also of getting dressed up as our favourite character. We had some very good costumes on the day ranging from Matilda to Witches to Mr Twit - we had a fabulous afternoon!!
Here is what we did in each class.
Miss Barratt read George's Marvelous Medicine and we created our own medicine using gross ingredients.
Miss Clark read the BFG and we created our own top trumps cards for the various characters within the book.
Mr Challinor also read the BFG, we role played our own dreams and drew pictures of them.
Miss Jaques read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and we concentrated on the chapter titled the chocolate room. We had our own chocolate waterfall and created our own chocolates using the chocolate waterfall, sweets and fruit.
